About Sportish
Fun, joy and passion. Inclusivity and curiosity. Sport is about personal fulfilment and community, not elitism. Sportish started when we - Libby and Georgie Trickett, two sisters-in-law and great mates - realised the conversation around sport in Australia needs to change.
Sport is part of our social fabric, and yet so many people feel locked out. We’re here to inspire you and get you excited about challenging yourself and having fun — with none of the elitism.
Sportish brings together human-centered curiosity and playful banter to explore the real sports topics that impact you in your everyday life, so that more kids and adults can feel inspired to play and stay in the game.

ADJECTIVE AND ADVERB
Playing, watching or dabbling in sport for fun, health, friendships and connection with a community; a more inclusive, joyful way of getting involved in sports without the pressure of toxic sports culture.
“I love trying new sports for fun. I’m sportish.”
Noun
The brand, podcast and media business of Australian Olympian athlete Libby Trickett and kids coach Georgie Trickett.
“We’re Sportish.”
How Sportish began…
We’ve known each other since 2004 and even went to the same school (Georgie was Libby's school captain when she was in grade 9, Georgie doesn't remember Libby from school - awks). After marrying into the Trickett Family, we now have 7 kids and 3 dogs between us and have shared so many of life's ups and downs.
After doing a 25km run back in December 2021, we realised the depth of our shared love of sport, and how that impacts everything - physically, mentally, socially (it really is amazing what you can achieve in the long run). We both got goosebumps when we realised that talking about being sportish was not only something that we wanted to do, but needed to do.
Sport is part of our social fabric, and yet so many people feel locked out. It’s often spoken about through a male lens, which is not always consistent with how women interact with and interpret sport.
We realised the way we spoke about sport and the things we were interested in about sport, were not being reflected in the media. Where were the people talking about the men's hair styles in football? Where were the conversations about the huge drop out of kids playing sports? Who's talking about the struggle of athletes when they retire from the biggest and most important job they've ever had?
And while we hate to say it, sport in Australia can be a tiny bit snobbish - if you don’t know everything that happened on the weekend or you didn’t understand every rule and all the terminology, it can feel like you can’t be part of a sports conversation.
We want you to feel like you have us in your head, ready to start chatting away when any social situation turns to sport. We want you to feel like its ok to talk about the parts of sport that are interesting to you (and own the fact that some of it is just plain dull). We want you to feel like you belong enough in sport to be called Sportish.
Now - we are on a mission to:
Give kids the practical tools to stay engaged in sport, grow their self-confidence and friendships
Help more Aussies feel strong and healthy
Connect people with amazing resources
Give people the confidence to connect with sport where they're at
Help parents to better support their kids
Create communities
We see it as such a privilege to help shape the trajectory of a kid or adult’s life and the confidence they have in themselves.
